Espírito Santo has registered a second confirmed case of Covid-19, according to Governor Renato Casagrande. The patient is in Vila Velha, recently arrived from England and has no relation to the first confirmed patient, according to the government.
According to the Secretariat of Health (Sesa), through the Strategic Operations Center (COE), the patient is a man, a Brazilian who lives abroad, and is in the state visiting family members. He is in isolation at home without severe symptoms. With this new update, Sesa has two confirmed cases, 48 discarded and 21 under investigation.
Governor Renato Casagrande also said that the measures taken in relation to the prevention of Covid-19 should be evaluated daily. “I have a group that discusses the situation of the coronavirus. We have a case that has already been out of quarantine and another confirmed case. We need to evaluate daily, we cannot generate panic in people. We are taking measures and, from the need, we announce for the population these measures “, said the governor.

The first case of coronavirus in Espírito Santo was diagnosed in a resident of Vila Velha. She was released last Tuesday (10) from the home isolation she was subjected to since February 29. According to the Municipal Health Secretariat of Vila Velha, the woman is already in full health to resume her normal activities. Her family members, who were also being monitored, have an asymptomatic condition, without showing symptoms of the disease.

- Cover the inside of the elbow with the mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing;
- Use disposable tissue for nasal hygiene;
- Avoid touching mucous membranes of the eyes, nose and mouth;
- Do not share personal items;
- Clean the room regularly and keep it ventilated.
