The wording of the regulation:

“The Berlin Senate decided today that all public and non-public events with 50 participants or more are now prohibited in Berlin. Bars, clubs, amusement arcades, casinos, trade fairs, betting shops and similar companies may no longer be opened to the public; the same applies to cinemas, theaters, concert halls, museums, exhibitions and similar establishments and entertainment venues, as well as prostitution venues and for public and private events Up to 50 people, the organizer must keep an attendance list that contains name, address, address and telephone number. This list must be kept for at least four weeks and must be given in full at the request of the health department, with the exception of restaurants. Restaurants that meet the requirements of a smoking restaurant within the meaning of the Non-Smoking Protection Act may not open to the public. Restaurants where meals are prepared on site may open, but only if the tables are at least 1.5 meters apart Sports in all public and private sports facilities, swimming pools and gyms are prohibited, and visits to hospitals are also restricted. Patients are not allowed to receive a visit. Patients under the age of 16 and the seriously ill are excluded. Once a day, they are allowed to see one person for one hour, but not for those with a respiratory illness. Nursing home residents are also only allowed to visit once a day, but not for children under 16 years of age or people with respiratory diseases. Schools close on Monday, March 16 (upper level centers ) or Tuesday March 17th (all other schools). Tests may be carried out if a distance of 1.5 meters is maintained. As of March 17, day care centers may only offer emergency care for children of people whose professional activities are essential for the maintenance of public life (critical infrastructures), in particular for nursing. The responsible Senate administration decides on the selection of the facilities, the legal basis for this legal basis is the Infection Protection Act. This regulation comes into force today and will be applied immediately. ”

Berlin’s mayor said on Saturday. “These other measures that the Senate has decided will have a massive impact on each of us in our everyday lives. But they are urgently needed to slow the spread of the corona virus, because it can reduce social contacts to a minimum. We are all asked now, each and every one of us. In the coming weeks or even months, we should all show solidarity with one another, support each other, help where help is needed. The older people in particular need our support because they belong to the largest risk group, as the scientists confirm. ”
