Gymnasium No. 1508 in the east of Moscow will be quarantined from March 16 due to suspected coronavirus in one of the students. This is stated in a message on website educational institution published on Sunday, March 15th.

The quarantine in the gymnasium will last two weeks. Attention is drawn to the fact that all the necessary anti-epidemic measures, including disinfection of premises, have already been carried out in the gymnasium building.

For all students, a distance learning mode is assigned so that they continue to master the school curriculum.

Earlier March 14, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin introduced free attendance of schools in the Russian capital from Monday, March 16. In addition, the city authorities ordered students who returned from countries where coronavirus is prevalent to comply with the quarantine regime.

According to information on March 15, 63 people were infected with coronavirus in Russia.

An outbreak of COVID-2019 pneumonia caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus was reported in Wuhan, China, in late December. As of March 15, more than 156 thousand people were infected in the world, at least 75 thousand patients were cured, and more than 5 thousand died.
