No cases have yet been identified, but there are enough tests in the city. It is also reported that one of the private clinics in the city is doing fake tests.
In Kiev, cases of infection with coronavirus have not yet been recorded. This was at a briefing on Monday, March 16, said the first deputy head of the Kiev city state administration Mykola Povoroznyuk, reports Interfax-Ukraine.
“Have coronavirus cases been recorded in the city of Kiev? Not recorded. We have conducted, together with private clinics, more than 60 examinations for coronavirus – to date, no cases have been recorded,” said Povoroznyuk.
He noted that the capital is provided with tests to determine human infection with coronavirus.
“There are tests, the city is provided with tests. Today for the evening we expect about four thousand more tests for medical institutions of the city of Kiev,” the official stressed.
According to him, new tests determine the presence of coronavirus in the body by saliva, unlike the old ones, which were determined by a blood test.
Povoroznyuk also said that one of the private Kiev clinics conducts false tests for coronavirus.
“This clinic delivered several positive tests. After they passed the reference laboratory, they were all canceled,” he said. Povoroznik emphasized that law enforcement officers should respond to attempts to earn “crazy money” in conditions of shortages, “including tests of UAH 1,500, and attempts to sell drugs for coronavirus that do not exist.”
He emphasized that tests for coronavirus are not sold anywhere, and such testing is carried out only in medical facilities.
As known, in Kiev because of quarantine are closed shopping centers and shops with the exception of grocery and hardware stores and pharmacies. Gas stations, banks and ATMs will continue to operate.
