The government should decide to extend restrictions on the free movement of people throughout the Czech Republic. Health Minister Adam Vojtěch (on behalf of YES) has previously announced that this measure will be extended by at least one week due to coronavirus. This should apply until April 8. Restaurants and most shops will be closed for the same time.
The Cabinet will also discuss personnel changes at the head of the Central Crisis Staff. The staff is now headed by epidemiologist and Deputy Minister of Health Roman Prymula. He should be replaced by Interior Minister Jan Hamacek (CSSD).
“It is a decision made by the Prime Minister. We are returning to the model, which was at the beginning, that the Ministry of the Interior is responsible for crisis management, and the health service will do what it deserves and what the professionals are in, ”Hamáček said on Monday.
Ministers should also discuss the proposal by Finance Minister Alena Schiller (for ANO), which calls for the postponement of mortgage, consumer and business loans to be postponed for six months.
Last but not least, the cabinet should resolve the weekend dispute between Vojtěch and Hamáček. On Twitter, ministers argued over who was responsible for distributing protective equipment to nursing homes.
