The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office demanded to restrict access to the message on VKontakte about patients with coronavirus infection, containing calls for extremism, reported on the agency’s website.

The comment was found on the page of one of the Penza communities: the author of the publication called for the reprisal of the sick and the closure of transport links with the region.

“The commentary contains statements of a stimulating nature calling for hostile actions towards a group of people with coronavirus infection,” the report states.

The Office indicated that such statements fall under the definition of extremist activity.

The Prosecutor General’s Office demanded that Roskomnadzor limit access to publications on VKontakte and on any other Internet resources. In addition, the audit materials were sent to the FSB to resolve the issue of initiating a criminal case under part 2 of article 280 of the Criminal Code (public calls for extremist activities).
