Self-employed victims of coronavirus will be able to receive unemployment benefits

Self-employed affected by restrictive measures in the context of the COVID-19 virus pandemic have the right to receive unemployment benefits, said presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

“As for the unemployment benefits that were discussed, it doesn’t matter whether you are self-employed or not self-employed. Moreover, the regime for receiving this allowance and minimizing those documents and those questions that need to be answered are offered there, which is completely lite, ”Mr. Peskov told reporters.

Recall, yesterday, April 8, before a meeting with governors, Russian President Vladimir Putin once again addressed citizens. In his appeal, he urged the Russians not to violate the regime of self-isolation, and also announced additional measures to support the population, including the payment of unemployment benefits in the amount of three times the minimum monthly wage (12,130 rubles).
