Some employees of the Bolshoi Theater were suspended from the organization of the concert “Together” due to the identified COVID-19, the institution’s press service told RBC.
“Indeed, although no one had any external signs – no cough, no high fever – for several people the test turned out to be positive. Naturally, they were removed from the event and now everyone is at home in quarantine, ”said the representative of the theater.
The interlocutor of RBC said that several hundred people were involved in the organization of the concert, they passed the test a few days before the event.
Bolshoi Theater Director General Vladimir Urin TASSthat coronavirus was detected in 34 employees. They were suspended from work and sent to quarantine. Re-testing will take place on Tuesday or Wednesday.
The concert “We Together” was broadcast live on the TV channel “Russia 1” on Saturday, April 11. Actors Dmitry Pevtsov, Sergey Garmash, Konstantin Khabensky, singers Nikolai Rastorguev, Dima Bilan, Polina Gagarina, Tamara Gverdtsiteli, composer Igor Krutoy, violinist Vadim Repin and other artists have performed at the Bolshoi Theater in front of an absolutely empty auditorium. They expressed gratitude to Russian doctors, volunteers and everyone who had to go to work so that life in the cities continued.
