Removal of restrictions imposed to combat coronavirus should be gradual, otherwise the risk of repeated outbreaks of the disease is not excluded. This was announced by the WHO Regional Director for the Western Pacific, Takeshi Kasai, transmits Reuters.
According to him, so far no country is safe from a new outbreak. Therefore, governments that are considering lifting restrictions should proceed carefully and in stages.
The director said that restrictive measures were effective in combating the pandemic, and society must adapt to live in new conditions until a vaccine is created or a sufficiently effective treatment for coronavirus is found.
“People and society must be ready for a new lifestyle,” he said.
