Moscow doctors helped evacuate a severe patient with COVID-19 in the Trans-Baikal Territory


The Moscow doctors, together with the regional center for disaster medicine, evacuated a patient in serious condition with a COVID-19 from a mono-hospital of the Borzinsky Central District Hospital in a medical helicopter. Everything went well – the patient was taken to the hospital of Chita without deterioration of his health.

A multidisciplinary team of doctors went to Chita on behalf of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin to help Transbaikal colleagues in the fight against coronavirus. Doctors brought medicines, personal protective equipment, as well as equipment necessary for the treatment of coronavirus to Chita.

– Now we are working in the Chita mono-hospital. We managed to visit other hospitals and hold consultations for severe patients who require special attention. In particular, in the oncology clinic, we examined several patients with a complex diagnosis, together with colleagues decided to transfer these patients to a specialized hospital for further treatment. Our plans are to evaluate the entire system of care for this category of patients, ”said Sergey Andreev, deputy head doctor of the Hospital for War Veterans No. 1 of the Moscow Department of Health.

Muscovites take an active part in meetings of the coronavirus headquarters under the Ministry of Health of the Territory, as well as in the development of changes to the routing scheme of patients with confirmed COVID-19.

Let me remind you: from May 27, 6 multidisciplinary teams of 6-7 doctors went to the republics of North Ossetia – Alania, Ingushetia, Dagestan and the Trans-Baikal Territory, to the Pskov and Vladimir Regions for two weeks.

Each of them includes pulmonologists, infectious disease specialists, resuscitation anaesthesiologists, radiologists, anesthetists, and surgeons from Moscow hospitals lead the teams. In the Trans-Baikal Territory, doctors arrived at the city clinical hospital named after M.P. Konchalovsky, Children’s Infectious Clinical Hospital №6, City Clinical Hospital. A.K. Eramishantseva and City Clinical Hospital №1 named after N.I. Pirogov.
