According to him, during the meeting of the commandant’s office a decision was made about a complete lockdown. But as a result of the discussions, it became clear that this decision would not lead to the desired results. And the matter is not only in the economic consequences. The problem is the proper enforcement of quarantine. People will continue to break the rules on their territory, and immediately after the cancellation of the lockdown, the same indicators will be restored in 500-600 patients with coronavirus. If the population is ready to follow the rules, then it can do it now.

The state of emergency in order to suppress the spread of coronavirus was announced in Armenia from March 16, 2020 for a month. On April 13, the government extended the state of emergency for a month – until May 14, inclusive, and then – for another month – until 17:00 on June 13. At the same time, restrictions on free movement and certain types of economic activities introduced on March 24 were lifted on May 4, and on May 18, public transport, gyms, kindergartens, and catering facilities were resumed.

According to the situation on Saturday morning, June 6, 12364 confirmed cases of coronavirus were recorded in Armenia. 190 patients died from COVID-19, 3720 people were cured.

Recall, as of Sunday night, June 7, the total number of patients who recovered from the infection caused by the new SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus in the world is 3,071,403 people. In total, from the beginning of the epidemic, 6 855 858 infected were recorded.
