“40 drivers who drove in the last month on the fast routes to the Industrial Park, 31, 32, 33, 34 and 35 were tested. Two of the drivers, who drove to the company (n.r. Plexus) they were found positive “, says Viorel Pop, OTL director.
In the case of the other 38 drivers, the tests were negative.
The two drivers infected with Covid-19 were hospitalized on Friday at the Municipal Hospital in Oradea, according to the procedure, but they are asymptomatic.
The situation was also confirmed by Daniela Rahotă, the director of DSP Bihor. “We did the investigation after the positive cases from Plexus appeared. We found two positives on two transport lines. We contacted the occupational medicine doctor from OTL to identify the contacts of the two drivers,” the DSP chief said.
According to her, following the confirmations, the families of the infected drivers were put in isolation, as well as two other drivers who were found to have had direct contact with them. All are asymptomatic and have not been tested. “The methodology from INSP tells us that they are tested only if they have symptoms”, explains Rahotă.
According to her, OTL has taken all measures at the national level for transport companies, including ensuring plexiglass partitions between drivers and passengers. “It is very difficult when we are in the community transmission phase to find the index case, ie the first patient. It is important to find those infected and isolate the contacts,” explains the doctor.
The director of OTL, Viorel Pop, says that every morning the drivers and the injured of the company go through an epidemiological triage, their temperature being checked. In fact, says the director, there have been no problems with the drivers who ensure the traffic in the city, since the beginning of the pandemic.
Regarding the Plexus company, its representatives stated that, following the tests, 21 people infected among employees and “third party contractors”.
