COVID-19 costs Tunisia Airlines $ 142 million


Enver Maruf, Minister of State Responsible for Transportation in Tunisia, said in his speech at the parliament that the transportation sector was negatively affected by COVID-19 both in Tunisia and the world.

“Tunisia Airlines has suffered secondary damage associated with the maintenance of aircraft due to COVID-19, as well as about 400 million dinars ($ 142 million) from its sources.” Maruf said, the company suspended flights from March 15 to June 26.

In this process, Maruf stated that only commercial flights were made at the request of the Ministry of Health with the evacuations made from other countries and pointed out that Tunisia Airlines will reach its activity level in 2019 only in 2013.
