In Austria, began selling PCR tests for COVID-19, which can be performed at home

The dm chain of stores and pharmacies in Austria has started selling PCR tests for coronavirus, which can be done at home.

This was stated in dm drogerie markt, Ukrinform’s own correspondent reports.

“In this way, we respond to the desire of many customers to provide low-threshold access to coronavirus tests,” said dm managing director Harald Bauer.

Anyone can buy a “home” PCR test for coronavirus, its price is 119 euros. However, the sale is carried out only in the online store dm – to avoid contact with people who suspect COVID-19.

The test kit manufactured by the biotechnology company Novogenia GmbH from Salzburg has instructions for use and a suitable container where the saliva sample should be placed. In a secure package, it is sent to the laboratory, which reports the result online within 1-3 days.
