According to preliminary quarterly figures, revenues in the period were between 965 million and 975 million euros. That is much more than the nearly 437 million euros that went into the books a year earlier. The operating profit rose simultaneously from about 18 million euros to an amount between 145 million and 155 million euros. Both turnover and profit were therefore much stronger than anticipated.
The company is now also raising its financial expectations for the whole of 2020. HelloFresh expects to be able to grow turnover between 55 and 70 percent this year, without taking into account exchange rate fluctuations. The prognosis previously stood at 40 to 55 percent growth. In addition, the forecast for operating profit has been tightened. This is likely to rise 8 to 10 percent this year, the company said.
HelloFresh also performed well in the first quarter, with a turnover of just under 700 million euros. That was 66 percent more than a year earlier.
