A new outbreak of African swine fever (ASF) was identified in the Kirov region of the region. At the border of the district, checkpoints have been established, the private sector will be disinfected. Quarantine is also valid in the Kirov, Yakovlevsky districts, the Chuguevsky municipal district and Lesozavodsk, informs government of the region.

According to the State Veterinary Inspectorate of the Primorsky Territory, an outbreak of the disease was detected in the villages of Stepanovka and Maryanovka, Kirov District.

“Quarantine has been introduced in the area. Now veterinarians are conducting measures to prevent the disease – disinfection of households in the private sector. At the border of the second threatened zone, checkpoints were established, ” Inspection Manager Dmitry Kuzin.

As of today, ASF quarantine operates in the Kirov, Yakovlevsky districts, the Chuguevsky municipal district and Lesozavodsk.

Recall that African swine fever was recorded in Primorye in July 2019. The virus circulates among wild boar. It can be entered by people on clothes, shoes, through the meat of wild boar. For humans, this disease is not dangerous.
