It was after a tip from a worried citizen that the police proceeded to check the shop on Monday afternoon. After all, the operator would have tested positive for Covid-19, but would have refused to close his case.
“On arrival of our people, who wore the necessary protective clothing, the man was indeed working,” said spokesman Sven Lommaert of the Antwerp police. “We immediately closed the store administratively. Nine other members of staff are now being tested as soon as possible, at the AZ Monica hospital or by their GP. ”
All fruits and vegetables were seized and the case sealed. Customers present in the case were advised to get tested.
