Moscow. August 1. INTERFAX.RU – Russian tourists sick with coronavirus in Abkhazia will be sent to Russia for treatment, while Abkhaz doctors will provide initial emergency assistance to those infected, the Minister of Health of the Republic Tamaz Tsakhnakia told reporters.

“Abkhazian doctors are ready to provide emergency assistance to Russian citizens, as has always been done for other indications, in accordance with our agreement with Russia, but after that they will be sent for treatment to Russian territory,” he said.

The minister recalled that during the stay of specialists from the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation and Rospotrebnadzor in Abkhazia, “routing issues” were worked out, that is, the delivery of infected tourists to Russia.

On August 1, the authorities of the Russian Federation and Abkhazia lifted restrictions on crossing the Russian-Abkhaz border. Earlier on Saturday, it became known that 300 cars left Russia for Abkhazia, and 50 in the opposite direction.
