Following the tests performed at national level, compared to the last report, 1,225 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, these being cases that had not previously had a positive test.

  • To date, they have been processed nationally 1,226,058 tests. Of these, 23,451 were performed in the last 24 hours, 13,756 based on the case definition and the medical protocol, and 9,695 on request.
  • Until today, August 1, on the Romanian territory, they were confirmed 52,111 cases of infected people with the new coronavirus (COVID-19).
  • 27,346 patients were declared cured and 4,596 asymptomatic patients were discharged 10 days after detection.

Following the tests performed at national level, compared to the last report, 1,225 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 were registered (COVID – 19), these being cases that have not previously had a positive test.

  • To date, 2,379 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection have died.
  • Between 31.07.2020 (10:00) – 1.08.2020 (10:00) were registered 36 deaths (25 men and 11 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Arad, Argeş, Bacău , Bistriţa-Năsăud, Brăila, Braşov, Buzău, Dâmboviţa, Galaţi, Ialomiţa, Maramureş, Mehedinţi, Olt, Prahova, Sălaj, Suceava, Vâlcea, Vaslui, Ilfov and Bucharest.

Of these, 3 deaths were recorded in the age category 50-59 years, 11 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 12 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 10 deaths in the category over 80 years.

All 36 deaths were from patients with comorbidities.

In the specialized health units, the total number of persons hospitalized with COVID-19 is 7,445. Of these, 401 patients are admitted to ATI.

COVID-19 on 1 August: a total of 1,226,058 tests were processed

To date, 1,226,058 tests have been processed at the national level. Of these, 23,451 were performed in the last 24 hours, 13,756 based on the case definition and the medical protocol, and 9,695 on request.

  • In Romania, 4,742 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are in isolation at home, and 4,284 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 16,110 people are in quarantine at home, and 58 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

  • In the last 24 hours, they were recorded 1,100 calls to the unique emergency number 112 and 847 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), open especially for informing citizens.

Fines for violating anti-COVID measures

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 15.05.2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 1,515 sanctions for minor offenses, amounting to 188,045 lei.

Also, through the competent structures of the Police, 3 crimes were found yesterday to thwart the fight against diseases, a deed provided and punished by art. 352 Penal Code.

We remind the citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has operationalized, starting with 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of the sanitary protection norms can be notified.

The calls are taken over by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified aspects.

The situation of Romanians abroad, infected with the new coronavirus

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, 5,486 Romanian citizens were confirmed as infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1,891 in Italy, 561 in Spain, 124 in France, 2,558 in Germany, 157 in the United Kingdom , 28 in Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in USA, 111 in Austria, 3 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 2 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 16 in Greece, 2 in Cyprus and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, the United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil, India, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Sweden and the Republic of Congo.

  • Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and until now, 123 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 9 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the USA, one in Brazil and one in the Republic of Congo, have died.

Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 189 were declared cured: 159 in Germany, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.

Note: these data are obtained by the Romanian diplomatic missions and consular offices abroad, either from the competent authorities of the states of residence, insofar as these data are subject to public communication, or directly from Romanian citizens abroad.

Also, Romanians abroad can request information about preventing and combating the virus at the line specially dedicated to them, +4021.320.20.20 ”, it is shown in the communiqué of the authorities.

To date, on July 31, in Romania, 50,886 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.
27,007 patients were declared cured and 4,433 asymptomatic patients were discharged 10 days after detection.

Following the tests performed at national level, compared to the last report, 1,295 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, these being cases that had not previously had a positive test.

Apart from the newly confirmed cases, following the retesting of patients who were already positive, 654 people were reconfirmed positively.

To date, 2,343 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection have died.

Between 30.07.2020 (10:00) – 31.07.2020 (10:00) were registered 39 deaths (22 men and 17 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Arad, Argeş, Bacău , Brăila, Braşov, Buzău, Călăraşi, Caraş-Severin, Constanţa, Dâmboviţa, Galaţi, Harghita, Hunedoara, Ialomiţa, Maramureş, Mehedinţi, Mureş, Neamţ, Olt, Prahova, Teleorman, Timiş, Vrancea and Bucharest.

Of these, 1 death was recorded in the category 30-39 years, 2 deaths in the age category 40-49 years, 3 deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 12 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 14 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 7 deaths in the category over 80 years.

All 39 deaths were from patients with comorbidities.

In the specialized health units, the total number of persons hospitalized with COVID-19 is 7,456. Of these, 409 patients are admitted to ATI.

To date, 1,202,607 tests have been processed at the national level. Of these, 22,767 were performed in the last 24 hours, 13,113 based on the case definition and medical protocol, and 9,654 upon request. Also, since the last information made by GCS, the results of 2,210 tests processed before the last 24 hours and submitted by July 31 have been reported.

In Romania, 4,458 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 4,530 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 18,525 people are in quarantine at home, and 53 people are in institutionalized quarantine.
