August licenses are being accompanied across Europe by stepping up measures to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus. Measures are taken centrally but also at regional level.

In Madeira, the local government decided to impose the use of the mask outdoors. Something that some consider to be unconstitutional while others do not.

On the beaches of Spain the measures dictate the observance of distances.

The city of Touche in northwestern France is a resort. The use of a mask is mandatory outdoors, as in several other cities in France. Most realize the necessity of the measure and comply, others are not convinced.

At the largest airport in France, Charles de Gaulle, the diagnostic center is fully operational.

In Italy, the government responded to the decision of the railways not to keep their distance in high-speed travel by making it a mandatory mask on all routes.
