The chief US expert on infectious diseases has an opinion on Chinese and Russian coronavirus vaccines

Several Chinese companies are working on the vaccine, while Russia has announced that it hopes to become the first country to start mass production of vaccines for the population and could start using them as early as mid-August.

However, their medicines are likely to face increased attention, given that both countries’ surveillance systems are much weaker than in the West.

The questioning of Congress in Congress asked whether the United States could use vaccines made by China or Russia, to which he responded in the negative.

“I sincerely hope the Chinese and Russians try the vaccine at all before they give it to someone,” Fauchi said. “Allegations of a ready-to-distribute vaccine before testing are, in my opinion, problematic at best. We are moving very fast. I do not believe that there will be vaccines so far ahead of us that we will be dependent on other countries.”
