Scientists from Germany have found that those who have not been sick with it may also have cellular immunity to coronavirus. In the course of research, experts found T cells in the blood of healthy people that respond to coronavirus infection. But none of them had COVID19.
Of all the volunteers, and there were 68 of them, 24 found such cells. That’s 35%, and when these results are “superimposed” on the population, the figure is not bad. The authors of the study believe that the immune response of people who have not been sick before is activated by those regions of the protein that are characteristic of the “common cold” coronavirus.
Scientists plan to continue research, they hope that the results of the work will be useful for the development of a vaccine.
