Cyprus: 25 new cases of coronavirus announced by the Ministry of Health

Twenty-five new cases of COVID-19 disease from a total of 3,988 laboratory diagnoses were announced on Tuesday afternoon (04/08) by the Ministry of Health of Cyprus. Most cases occur through the process of tracking the contacts of already confirmed cases.

More specifically, out of 173 samples through the process of tracking the contacts of already confirmed cases, 13 cases emerged. Out of 1,278 samples in the context of passenger and repatriated control, 2 cases were identified. One person was identified by the sampling of Class A and B passengers. Out of 981 samples through private initiative, 2 cases were detected. Out of 303 samples from the Province of Larnaca, in the context of the random sampling of 3,000 people, 3 cases were identified. Out of 486 samples from the Province of Nicosia, in the context of the random sampling of 3,000 people, 3 cases were identified. From 43 samples from the Province of Famagusta, as part of the random sampling of 3,000 people, 1 case was detected. Out of 302 samples from the Paphos District, in the context of the random sampling of 3,000 people, 1 case was detected.

In addition, laboratory diagnoses were performed by the microbiological laboratories of the General Hospitals, from samples in the Limassol District as part of the random sampling of 3,000 people, from samples under the employee control program, from the residents of Kato Pyrgos Tillirias and under the referral program from Personal Doctors and control of special groups through the Public Health Clinics, without the detection of a case.

Based on the data so far, the total number of positive cases is 1,180.

In addition, at the Famagusta General Hospital, five patients are being treated in a ward in good general condition.
