Italy threatens to suspend Ryanair due to breaches of Covid-19 crisis rules – Transport and logistics – Financenet

The Irish low-cost airline “has repeatedly violated the health rules introduced by Covid-19, which are currently in force and have been adopted by the Italian government to protect passenger health,” said ENAC.

“Not only have the requirements for distance between passengers been violated, but the conditions for exceptions to these rules have been ignored,” the statement said.

If Ryanair continues to break the rules, ENAC will “suspend all air transport activities at national airports by requiring the carrier to redirect passengers who already have tickets”.

Italy was the first European Union (EU) country to suffer a severe pandemic, with more than 35,000 Covid-19-related deaths, but the current rate of infection in Italy is lower than in other Member States.
