According to the Strategic Communication Group, a new case of COVID-19 has been registered in Satu Mare County in the last 24 hours. Thus, the balance from the beginning of the epidemic to the present has reached 124.
Apart from the newly confirmed cases, after retesting the patients who were already positive, three people were reconfirmed positively.
The situation at national level and the distribution of cases by counties
To date, on August 8, in Romania, 60,623 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.
29,872 patients were declared cured and 6,204 asymptomatic patients were discharged 10 days after detection.
Following the tests performed at national level, compared to the last report, 1,350 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, these being cases that had not previously had a positive test. To date, 2,659 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection have died.
Between 07.08.2020 (10:00) – 08.08.2020 (10:00) there were 43 deaths (21 men and 22 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Arad, Argeș , Bacău, Brăila, Brașov, Caraș-Severin, Covasna, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Gorj, Hunedoara, Iași, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Mureș, Prahova, Sibiu, Suceava, Timiș, Tulcea, Vaslui and Bucharest.
Of these, 1 death was recorded in the age category 30-39 years, 2 in the age category 40-49 years, 5 deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 13 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 13 deaths in the age group 70-79 years and 9 deaths in the category over 80 years.
42 of the registered deaths were of some patients who presented with comorbidities, and one deceased patient did not present with comorbidities.
In the specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 7,595. Of these, 448 are hospitalized at ATI.
To date, 1,364,759 tests have been processed at national level. Of these, 21,444 were performed in the last 24 hours, 13,211 based on the case definition and medical protocol, and 8,233 upon request.
In Romania, 6,614 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are in isolation at home, and 5,215 people are in institutionalized isolation. Also, 20,040 people are in quarantine at home, and 170 people are in institutionalized quarantine.
In the last 24 hours, 1,130 calls were registered to the unique emergency number 112 and 537 on the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), open especially for informing citizens.
As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 15.05.2020 regarding some measures for preventing and combating the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 1,134 sanctions for minor offenses, amounting to 268,370 lei.
