The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine also plans to hold an extraordinary meeting on August 8 due to the worsening situation with the spread of coronavirus infection. The ministers, in particular, will discuss the issue of the epidemic situation in the annexed Crimea, “where the real COVID-19».
Over the past day, 27 cases of coronavirus infection were registered in Crimea. In total, for the current period in Crimea, according to local authorities, 1,437 cases of new coronavirus infection have been registered. 78 of them were imported from abroad, 112 were from neighboring Russia and were identified by contact with them, 1038 people recovered over the entire period, 16 patients died due to coronavirus. Since the beginning of the year, 371 people have fallen ill with a new coronavirus infection in Sevastopol, 306 people have recovered, 11 people have died.
The data of the Russian authorities in Crimea on the incidence of coronavirus has not been confirmed by international organizations and other independent sources. Human rights activists argue that these statistics are significantly underestimated, since they do not reflect many important factors, including infection in the ranks of the Russian military and special services.
