US President Donald Trump has said that three US vaccines are already in the final stages of clinical trials and may yield excellent results.
“Three potential vaccines are now in the third phase of clinical trials, this is the final stage,” Trump said at a White House briefing.
“Each of them has high hopes,” said the American leader.
He also announced that he had reached an agreement with Moderna to buy 100 million doses of the coronavirus vaccine, which he is developing, if the drug is registered.
Earlier, Trump said that a vaccine against coronavirus in the United States may be ready around early November. Earlier, answering a clarifying question about the third of November, when the US presidential election will take place, Trump said: “I think in a number of cases yes, maybe earlier, but at about the same time.”
Currently, Pfizer and Moderna are the most advanced in the development of the COVID-19 vaccine in the United States.
