Moldova has officially asked Russia to supply a vaccine against coronavirus when export is possible, said Moldovan President Igor Dodon. He congratulated Russian President Vladimir Putin on the registration of the vaccine.
“We are in contact with countries that say they have already found a vaccine, in particular with the Russian Federation. We are in touch, and we have officially turned to our partners from the Russian Federation, so that at the moment when they decide to start exporting and this will be allowed by international standards, the vaccine will also be supplied to Moldova, ”said Mr Dodon in a video message published in Facebook.
He congratulated the Russian President on the registration of the vaccine. “By the way, I would like to congratulate President Putin. Whether someone likes it or not, Russia became the first country to announce the creation of a vaccine, ”the Moldovan president said.
Earlier, Reuters, citing Vietnamese state media, reported that the Vietnamese Ministry of Health had decided to purchase a Russian vaccine against coronavirus.
President Vladimir Putin announced the registration of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine on 11 August. It was registered as the first in the world. The vaccine should be released on January 1, 2021. The US Department of Health and the World Health Organization were skeptical about the vaccine.
