A total of 198 patients were discharged from the hospital.
In Latvia, a total of 222,531 examinations have been performed since the beginning of the pandemic, 1,308 people have become ill and 1,078 have recovered and 32 have died.
Yuri Perevoshchikov, director of the Infectious Diseases Risk Analysis and Prevention Department at the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (SPKC), explains that currently the main source of infection is people who are ill abroad. That is every third case. Most of the other patients become infected directly from them.
Therefore, the main thing now is to observe self-isolation when returning from high-risk areas, the list of which is unfortunately expanded every week, the specialist emphasized.
Today, Ireland, Denmark and Greece could join the list of high-risk countries to return to in isolation. Thus, there would already be 23 countries on this list.
