The SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus has already been identified in 21,072,125 inhabitants of the planet, it follows from data from the international group of volunteers Worldometer… According to them, 757,471 people had died from the COVID-19 disease by the morning of Friday, August 14, and almost 14 million patients recovered.

In Germany, the maximum increase since the beginning of May

Meanwhile, 1449 new infections have been recorded in Germany, according to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI). Thus, this indicator remains the maximum since May 1 for the second day in a row. In total, in the Federal Republic, the virus was detected in 221 413 people, 9225 patients died, 14 deaths occurred in the past day.

Ukraine has the highest daily increase in infections

In Ukraine, the increase in confirmed infections (1,732 cases) has become the largest since the infection entered the country. The total number of infected reached 87 872 people, of whom 2011 died, 46 797 recovered. Most patients with COVID-19 are in the Lviv region (11 658), Kiev (10 160) and Rivne region (7326), the Ukrainian Ministry of Health notes.

In Russia, the number of new infections still exceeds the threshold of 5000

Russia over the past day revealed 5,065 new infections and 114 deaths among patients with COVID-19, follows from the data of the operational headquarters. In total, a coronavirus infection was detected in 912 823 people in the country, 15 498 patients died, 722 964 recovered.

Meanwhile, the head of the Russian Ministry of Health, Mikhail Murashko, assured that data on preclinical and clinical trials of a vaccine against the new coronavirus will be published in the coming days. According to the minister, “there are no data limiting the use of the vaccine,” however, the vaccine should not be given on the eve of pregnancy.
