Under the contract, the US government will be able to request an additional 400 million doses of vaccine. According to an article on the Pentagon website, during the vaccination campaign, the population will not pay for receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.

The US military’s action is called Operation Warp Speed, referring to the Star Trek movie. The vaccine is in phase 3 testing, starting July 27. The contract is expected to be completed on March 31, 2022.
